Hi, Ardith Hinton! How are you?
on Wednesday, 04 of April, you wrote to Alexander Koryagin about "Russian
FidoNet"

In this case the Russian horses backsides are even greater! we have the
widest railroads tracks in the world. ;) As for the using of the old
software for Fidonet I doubt it's worth it. 'Fidolook' for example, is the
software extention designed for the standard Outlook Express. We all used to
mail usual e-mails via OE, but 'Fidolook makes it possible for OE to work as
a Fidonet client program; it provides many convenient abilities for the
pointer. FL allows to work with Fidonet via NNTP servers, and also via FTN
(when pointer gets his letters from the node via Internet).

AH> In the early 1990's people often stopped me on the street to ask "What's
AH> the Internet?" The Internet wasn't generally available then. A 2400

I know how it is difficult constantly modernize equipment. I am a quite old
student ;) and I remember the time when I felt myself comfortable with
MSDOS. And I used to say it was enough for me to have Norton Commander and
Borland C++ 3.1. But at first 'Microsoft Word', then 'Encarta' encyclopedia
forced me to change my views.

AH> it." ;-)

May be. Especially when we speak about hobby. As far as I can remember,
Peter even said that he was an radio-amateur. I imagine - listening the
whistling, cracking, rustling in the hope to listen to another ham radio man
may be from far away. Good romanticism.

Something about Grammar.
For a example Peter says in his letter to me: "I am a radio-amateur".
Then I told you (in the letter to you) that Peter said that he was a
radio-amateur. I wrote "was" according to the rule how Direct Speach must
be altered to Indirect one. But can you understand me, that Peter was a
radio-amateur, but now he is not?

Bye Ardith!
