The IPv4 addresses are running out this year and IPv6 is coming, that is for
sure. But as I worte in my article, it is very hard to predict when and to what
extent it will impact on FidoNet.

When I was a teenager, 10 years was like infinity. Now the the decades just
roll by...

Yes, prediction is tricky. Especially when the future is involved... ;-)

The problem with hardware that old is that it becomes difficult to replace. Try
finding a Hercules card. ;-)

On my WIN98 system, I had the Fido stuff on a seperate (physical) drive.

I have no idea how soon I'd stop having post addiction effects if I had to stop
cold Turkey with FidoNet. Probably not all that long. I have gone to other
major changes in my life and did not miss the old way very long.
