Ärende: Zone 2 nodelist segment

Is this still how it's done? I just saw no logs of a segment being received on
Friday -- only Wednesday. But we were told it was received on Friday.

No mediation involved at all. I only caught one hiccup in the blaming aspect,
and figured I'd see if there was an immediate correction to this or not. Just
wanting the truth here, as _everyone_ seems to bend it at some point in time.

Well, I'd be willing to bet on their side of the field it does relate. The
thing is, that nodelist segment can be altered at two points. Ward's and
Janis's.. before it goes out to the other zones. Janis was the one who
immediately came out and chucked the blame, which is fine. But the constant
bickering that's been going on here (as well as the stealing of the echo and
magazine from the rightful moderator/editor -- no matter what the reason was),
does make room to think something fishy is going on.

I'm kind of taking the stance of Mr. Bashe here. It's not always the first to
blame is the first to succeed in the guilt of another.

 > He purposely submitted a different seg to zones 1,3 and presumably 4 and
 > 5, that differs from data he is publishing inside his own zone..

Well, if he "purposely" did anything, it was only submitted to zone 1. From
zone 1 it got sent to the other zones.

If there was only one segment released and it was on-time, and the whole of
zone 2 got the correct version.. You don't think there's a possibility it could
have been altered at another location? As in, right smack dab in the middle of
zone 2 and the rest of the zones > 1?

I'm only saying.. There's more than just one possibility here, but everyone
that has shown in the past their hatred for zone 2 has already pointed their
fingers in that direction.

 > If this is purposeful, then this should raise quite a few eyebrows,
 > including Van Der Spocks, which of course it isnt...

I agree. But we haven't found that out as fact yet. It seems Janis was quick to
blame, and VERY hurriedly pushing the guilt. Even released as a Fidonews
article, in which I though Fidonews was supposed to be unbiased and not promote
an agenda .... ... .. Woah, I'm having flashbacks already!

 > Also Ward is no stranger to using his office as ZC to wield and use its
 > big stick to further an agenda..

That is probably true. But the same goes for our side of the pond as well. Just
in the time I've been here I've seen more antics from zone 1 than I have anyone
else. I've been told that it's because of years of turmoil, etc. But I think
the years of turmoil have been from both sides, honestly.

When can we just grow up? I mean damn, you're all well enough older than I am
and haven't seemed to realize it yet. I'm not referring to anyone in general
here, either, but this echo as a whole.

Seriously guys, I have 3 downlinks, and none of them even want this echo. I
just aquired these downlinks in the past few months. After about a week, they
had all turned it off, or completely ignored it. Is that how we want FIDONEWS
(the echo AND the zine) to be viewed?

I did hear about this. I wasn't here at the time, either, so I'll refrain from
commenting on it.. as my opinion doesn't mean anything on the subject.

 > Most of us thought the old Ward was gone, well he reincarnated himself..

Everyone thought the old Roy was gone, too.

BTW: Welcome back Roy. I knew you'd finally potato-sack the guy that took your
place for the past month or two. :)
