Hi Paul,

PH>WD> I'm going to say something remarkable ...

PH> ..and you do. It's always fun to read some of the stuff you put out in to
PH> the
PH> Fidosphere. It's an entertaining read. I may not always agree with your
PH> POV
PH> but you do have a way with expousing your views that makes me think your
PH> local newspaper must enjoy your letters to the editor as much as you
PH> would clearly enjoy penning them ;)

Actually, I don't write such letters. Since my age puts me on the wrong side of
the statistics I try to forego an things which are clearly a waste of time ...
the sole exception being Fidonet.

And it doesn't have to be that much of a waste of time either. I made good
friends here, I see them once every 2 or 3 years, which probably is why we can
remain friends. I also learned a tremendous lot here by skimming through the
echoes. I do hold a bachelor's degree in computer sciences, but I dare say I
learned more interesting stuff here than on the school benches... gotta love
them Ruskies. Also school is way too static.

In general I tend to have a humoresque look at events here, usually I get
dramatically misunderstood. Whatever we do say and write here is not going to
speed-up nor slow-down evolution. Eventually all of our molecules will end-up
in a black hole exploding ... it's going to be way more interesting to observe
than one of Bob Seaborn's hard discs just spinning.

But the US is a remarkable country. If I weren't tied down here by something as
lovely as a granddaughter, I would move there ... not just anywhere there, but
to the Flathead Valley of Montana. Beautiful people, amazing nature and only 2
seasons: "summer" and "roadworks" ... when the latter sign pops-up you know
summer's over.

Polson MT is a small place, but they do have a Walmart Supercenter serving the
whole valley, there's a Safeway, Autozone and the McKenzie River Pizza Company.
What else do you need to survive?

But the pledge of allegiance ... I hear it every day at my scout camp and then
I wonder "Guys, are you listening to what your saying or are you just spending
the next 30 seconds oblivious to your surroundings with your brain set to
zero?"

"One nation under God" ... "Liberty and justice for all" ... those are heavy
words.

The scout-oath is also something interesting, it says among other things "A
scout is trustworth" .... rarely have I witnessed so much lying and
backstabbing as in scouting, especially among the executives and their 6-figure
salaries. Many of them are Mormon and Mormon's are notorious liars ... my good
friend Russ, the one with the $7.000 rifle who can't afford a steak, always
says "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission".

Also the brownbagging of the Mormons ... they have a strictly non-alcohol rule.
However, I've seen a lady with a bottle of vodka in a brown bag adding some in
her tea ... Mormons never ask what's inside someone else's brown bag.

Then also they refuse to drink coffee, because it's bad for the body. However,
that same friend Russ and anotherone Austin, both Mormons, need to drink a
RedBull-200 in the morning, meaning 200mg cafeine ... a regular cup of coffee
contains 80mg ... "Nope, I don't drink coffee, but I do drink RedBull200...
that's not coffee ... the prophet [Joseph Smith] said we couldn't drink coffee,
he didn't mention cafeine" ... gotta love them Mormons.

The real puzzling thing about Mormons even is that all their women are gorgeous
... and none of them will step ouside the church. The social control is
impressive.

Also, you wanna go to college for free? Can be done ... the Mormons have their
own university, one of the best-ones in te world BTW ... BYU ... Brigham Young
university (mr.Young had 24 wives BTW). After high school young Mormons try to
go on a 2 year mission "to preach the gospel" and when they get back, with a
good letter of reference from their local bisshop (call that a mormon priest or
something) they can enroll in BYU for free as long as regular reports about
their Sunday-activities are positive (that's where the social control kicks
in).

Then who pays for all that? Because it is a private university... Well, all
registered Mormons drawing a salary pay "fifths" ... that is 1/5 of their
monthly salary "before taxes" goes to the church. So my good friend Russ, other
than paying $7.000 for a rifle he'll never use, has to give 1/5 of his military
dissability to the church ... and even pay taxes on it.

I was going to say "Don't get me going on the Mormons" but it seems I already
went part of the road.

Yes, Marie Osmond is a Mormon too ... and Lindsey Stirling ...
