No thank you.  I don't use compression that often and if I do it isn't an
archiver.

Haven't needed to lately.  All the email I get lately has been text, even from
hotmail accounts.

I agree 100%.  Same could be said about zip.  That should never have been a
standard.

Not here but that is a different issue and has nothing to do with messaging,
Fido or otherwise.  The reason it works has nothing to do with Fido, email or
any other type of messaging.  The same can be said for any GUI apps.

Yep.  Amazing isn't it?  Also has absolutely nothing to do with Fido standards
which probably explains why it works so well and will continue working no
matter what happens to Fido, email, the www, or any other simular nonsense. 
Right?

It shouldn't.  It could for those who wish such things.

Why should it kill it any more then adding extra crap?  Making it more
compatible and sensible across the board ought to promote growth and if it
doesn't then chances are the hobby network was doomed despite any efforts to
improve it.
