Hello Maurice.

25 Jul 09 18:07, you wrote to me:

I'd rather do without, but circumstances dictate otherwise ... :-(

Was a kernel issue ... :-((

Now working great, just I have run out of "ports" on my switch, so I cannot
connect it to the network ...

It would be appreciated if you could build such a system, but I will keep on
bashing a similar goal this side ...

Hmmm ... , okay, just want to figure an easy way of loading stuff onto my
server box'es anonymous FTP server, then figure out which/whose system I am
going to orphan from the network, and I'll give bluedot linux a bash on the
PIII, it just to-day got a 160Gig. HDD, a present from my step-son ... , he
just put a 500Gig. replacement in his box .... , I am not complaining ... :-)

Maybe a PIII build will fix that problem ...

Hmmm ... , wireless is something that has fallen behind here ...

unset HOST ARCH CC CXX CFLAGS CXXFLAGS CPPFLAGS
if [ -x /usr/bin/gcc ]; then
  export HOST="i486-pc-linux-gnu"
  export ARCH="i386"
  export CC="gcc -m32"
  export CFLAGS="-Os -march=i486"
  export JOBS="-j 8"
fi
if [ -x /usr/bin/g++ ]; then
  export CXX="g++ -m32"
  export CXXFLAGS="-Os -march=i486"
  export CPPFLAGS="-Os -march=i486"
fi

I take it as a given that JOBS=" -j 8" should be reduced to "1" on the PIII,
and can be bumped up to "2" on the P4 with hyperthreading?
