i don't know what for... AFAIK it is not in my legacy freenas... most likely
you found something to do with the (newer) IX releases of freenas... they took
over freenas back in 2010 IIRC...

putty isn't needed for any system that has ssh capabilities... even winwhatever
systems if there is some other ssh tool available...

MK> Hm. I thought putty was a windows hack? Why would you put that on

not weird... [joking] your RAM is scrambled... perhaps it needs a reboot? ;)
 [/joking]

ml> there may be some javascript items

every one of the links pointed to in the source code for most pages are
pointing to something.php ;)

ml> evidently you don't know what GPT is

MK> Actually I do but evidently you don't know that I don't require it.

i figured that part out real quick based on your reply but i would have thought
that yo would either have known with all the playing you've done OR you would
have researched it and found out what it was in a minute or two ;)

MK> Same with (u)efi and all that other crippleware you seem to find

i don't find it attractive... uefi is the new BIOS crap...
The Unified Extensible Firmware Interface is a specification that defines a
software interface between an operating system and platform firmware. UEFI is
meant to replace the Basic Input/Output System firmware interface, present in
all IBM PC-compatible personal computers.
AFAIK, you almost can't purchase any new motherboards today without it... but i
haven't bought any new motherboards in at least a decade...

i have no problem with the ext2 (or even ext3) disk formats... i use both of
them on most of my *nix boxen... i've only one that is using that reiserfs
format... i've not looked at others but i have considered looking at the *bsd
ZFS... on the other hand, we don't need anything that it offers so that's
probably still a long way off for our usage ;)

MK> Besides, I thought you were bragging about this all running on
MK> older hardware. What is the deal with GPT etc if that is true?

ummm... if an old recycled dell celeron box with only 768M RAM isn't "older
hardware" what is it? GPT will even work on my even older PII 300mhz boxen if i
decide to but *bsd on one of them...

as for "bragging", i wasn't doing anything close... sorry...
