That is true.  To be honest I've never seen it action but the only people I
have heard talk about it are all windows users.  A few embedded types too now
that I think about it but they tend to favour windows users or that is the
impression I have of them.

Never knew there is/was such a critter.  News to me.  Is this the same as
NAS4Free?  If so I don't see what they are using for ssh.  They don't say other
than that they use scp/ssh.  I certainly won't bet the farm that it is dropbear
but given that it closely resembles freenas I might make a smaller wager that
it is.

I first heard about dropbear when Pascal Schmidt was still in control of
ttylinux many, many years ago.  The current maintainer is still providing
dropbear.  My best guess is that legacy freenas is using dropbear.

No doubt!!!  I blame FTN raw pkts it's been forced into decyperhing lately.

Speaking of which, your screenshot of Benny's utf-8 message to me is definetly
amiss utf8-wise.  His original looks perfect here so maybe my ram isn't all
that scrambled ... yet.

The newest one here can turn it off/on in the bios.  Care to guess what I have

Ancient.  Only 768M?!?!?!?!  Isn't that overkill?  I used to run p3's with 256M
and thought that was probably too much but 128M sticks were the best buy back
then so two of them usually won out.  I think I might have bumped it up to 512M
on a dual p3 board I had just prior to jumping head first into x86_64 land.  I
liked p3's but cannot say the same for the motherboards back then.  It seems to
me that p2 motherboards were of higher quality.  Also I recall having issues
with cf-flash ide adapters and at least one Dell server I ran across.  I got it
to boot but then it had troubles with mounting once booted.  Never did bother
to figure out why that was and it really doesn't matter anymore.  I've moved on
from ide cf-flash adapters.
