Hey James!

Looks to me that it doesn't matter anymore.

Right. They can keep it.

I think it is both of us. Do you have a problem with it? Speaking for myself
I sort of like the way it has worked out and if it is important enough to
either or both of us we'll eventually get around to dealing with whatever it
was we both forgot we were talking about.

I think I always did a custom kernel when booting from a scsi drive. I've had
problems with any distributions scsi kernels for whatever strange reason even
if I ended up using the exact same version/source. Beats me why that should be
so but it usually is so. Perhaps some conflict with something else they think
I want and don't have.

JB> Come to think, maybe Slack wasn't sticking to this Compaq (Also an

Sounds good to me. Myself I still avoid Compaqs but probably would do
something about that as long as it is someone else's dime. :-)

If you say so. I have no idea and am not sure I really want to have any ideas.

JB> [RE: MK> Two things; nothing and FA. :-)]
 JB> Na... Too busy. <L>

It adds up to the same then. ;-)

JB> Stuff and money were meant to be used. I just have to find where I

I'd rather know where you hid your money and use that to get my own stuff.

JB> I heard the same, on the same "wrt" (Chuckle) ATI. I don't think

 JB> weren't they?

Somewhat ... maybe ... not really sure. All I know for sure is that whatever
ATI I ran across I could get working with something suitable and cannot today
say that about nvidia. Mind you I only have ever had one AGP ATI card and
wasn't all that impressed with that one. Today I know nothing about their
pci-e ones.

JB> Either way, they'll either get better, or worse. [-:

Let us hope for better. I am sure we'll find out eventually.

JB> Undoubtedly, the devices will dictate the format of the fields +
JB> records, but unless it uses some
JB> archaic scrambling/compression, I doubt there should be any troubles.

I have yet to run across any serial devices that did that although somebody
might have tried pulling that stunt. It wouldn't surprise me if true.

JB> A learning experience to be sure. I even house bails of CO2
JB> scrubbers. Now I'll have to build a
JB> submarine. (Wonder if Tom is lurking? B-) I surely harvested enough
 JB> plumbing!

Are you planning to outdo the West Edmonton Mall? Do they still have their
fleet operational? I haven't been to Edmonton for ages now, nevermind any mall
there. Mind you you might sucker in the Canadian Navy into buying a few from
you.  :::snicker:::

Life is good,
Maurice
