Hmmm... do you have a spare hard drive at least as large as the current drive?

I recall back in the day I got a new hard drive, made my partitions, used xcopy
/h/o/t/s/e/r/v to move the entire contents to the new drive, ran the command to
install the MBR and boot loader files (don't recall off the top of my head as
it was at least 6 years or more ago), put my newly made drive into the 'old'
system, reset the video drivers to base SVGA, take the drive out and mounted it
in a newer class of system, booted it again, installed the needed drivers for
the new video card (if you are not changing video cards/drivers skip the reset
step) and found that the system picked up all of the new hardware without any
issues.

I know I moved the system from an original early pentium or 486 class system to
a AMD K6-233 and more recently to the KIII-433 system without doing a
re-install. I think i've done a migration like that at least twice on the
original install.

Note that we aren't touching the live production system at all, other than to
clone it, and even the cloning can happen while the system is mostly live.

Drive Image or Drive Copy might make it even easier and has a reference to the
command needed to make the resultant copy bootable in OS2. At least the old
versions I had here would do that.

Note that the system was built well before 94 and has been migrated to newer
hardware (including newer drives) at least twice since and I haven't touched it
other than to power cycle it after a Trap-D and to read email in many many many
years.
