Sounds like they are embedding it to me. I suppose one way =

Microsoft and copy-protection company Macrovision have struck a =
deal that will add a new layer of anticopying defenses to video content = being
swapped between home devices.=20

The Macrovision technology has been one attempt to limit this. =
Rather than scrambling the signal altogether, as digital copy protection =
typically does, it includes a pulse of electronic energy along with the = video
as it is played. The pulse is meant to indicate the content should = not be
recorded. Many devices such as DVD recorders respect this signal = and block
recording if it is detected.=20

Under the new deal, Microsoft's Windows Media software will =
recognize this signal when it is included in incoming analog video = streams.
For upcoming versions of its Microsoft's Media Center Edition = operating
systems, the computer will allow users to make a temporary = copy that can be
stored one day, but that cannot be used after that = time.=20

In future versions of its Media software, including the version in =
its next Longhorn operating system, Microsoft plans to support an = upcoming
revision of Macrovision's technology that will allow content to = be stored for
just 90 minutes, or up to a week.=20

How does it differ? Well it's a completely different quote =
on a different topic. That's how it differs.

George was wrong and you jumped on putting your foot in =
your mouth without checking whether or not George was correct first.

"For the entertainment industry to deliver premium on-demand =
entertainment in the home, rights must be protected to prevent revenue = loss.
With about 10 million digital video recorders expected to ship in = 2005, a
surge in demand for PCs running Microsoft Windows XP Media = Center 2005 and
broad consumer adoption and use of digital media = technologies, Microsoft and
Macrovision are working to provide a = flexible rights solution that allows the
entertainment industry to take = full advantage of new usage models for today's
digital home. "

How does that differ from what was said? MacroVision is an =
analog technology and you plan to somehow marry it with Windows to = "protect"
"rights". Those "rights" would apparently NOT include the = buyers right to
somehow insure they get to injoy whatever they've bought = in the future. =20

I assure you - being consumer hostile is not the way to =
success in business.

The whole "loss of revenue" argument from these people has =
been proven bogus time and time again. They whine with every new = technology
that comes along and their sales continue. =20
