Hello Maurice.

18 Jan 07 16:59, you wrote to me:

<VBG> with the advantage that Linux can run several of them at once, which DOS
never could ... :-))

Well, I am stiring a bit for some changes, but so far Ward does not want to
bite ( :-( ) , that just might kick a little life into the old dog, and help
shed a few old crusty types with obsolete software ...

What I have in mind is somewhat along these lines,

Recieve mail bundle from node, unpack, do address translation, repack, toss to
my normal msgbase, for return msgs/replies scan out, do reverse address
translation, repack, and pass on to downlink ... , no fiddling with the
msgbase as such ...

RT>> Just how difficult that would be, I have no idea ...

MK> Depends on the format of the online/on-the-fly stuff. Keep it simple

MK> pkt's) dynamic and work on the good stuff first. :-)

That is the plan ...

Hmmm ... must download that again, but packets seem to be just plain text
already ...

Could work, tho currently I don't have transport issues, but addressing
issues, and if I can get this one to work, I believe I have another similar
application that would require a minimal amount of work to adapt to make it
work there as well ... , and as for archiving bz2 works well ... <grin>
