That's not the problem -- the problem is, where will the cash come from
to keep paying those drawing Social Security when we cut off the FICA
tax?

Not a patch on the problem.  While you COULD save a billion here and a
billion there, it would be only a drop in the Social Security bucket.

Yes, it is.  I don't disagree (including the examples I cut.)  But the
problem is, how do we fix it?

TR>money to piss away on systems or equipment that is un-needed, but cannot eve
TR>find the time to address the homeless problem in America.

That's another issue entirely -- the real problem of the homeless is
that many of them are intractable.

A good example is the woman who froze to death sitting on the bench
at bus stop in front of Housing and Urban Development.  Henry Cisneros
(Secretary of HUD) was pouring ashes over his head -- until the whole
story came out.

She had a plastic envelope on a cord around her neck.  In that envelope
was $300 in cash (more than enough for a night in a motel) and a ticket
for a reserved bed at a shelter.  AND she had a family that was looking
for her at the time!

She CHOSE to sit on that bench in freezing weather.

Very few.  A great many homeless people are drug addicts, alcoholics,
and people with serious mental problems.  People who won't even go to a
shelter when they have a reserved bed are people who can't hold jobs.

TR>into jobs that Americans could use, and nothing gets done. We have several
TR>military forts in California, with Troops just sitting there polishing their

To those who say we should put troops on the border, I say, "Which
units?"
