Ärende: Civil Rights.
=====================
On 04-20-06, DANNY CEPPA said to JOHN MASSEY:

DC>On 19 Apr 06 08:28:01, John Massey got back to Danny Ceppa
-> Re: Civil Rights.

DC> And, just how does that hold up with the voters who were
DC> prevented from accessing the polls?

JM> Your premise that there were voters prevented from accessing the
JM> polls has not been proven. In fact not one person has come forward to
JM> claim they were prevented from voting.

DC>But it has been:

DC>It is impossible to determine the total number of voters turned away from
DC>the polls or deprived of their right to vote. It is clear that the 2000
DC>presidential election generated a large number of complaints about voting
DC>irregularities in Florida. The Florida attorney general's office alone
DC>received more than 3,600 allegations-2,600 complaints and 1,000
DC>letters.[2] In addition, both the Democratic and Republican parties
DC>received many complaints from Floridians who either could not vote or
DC>experienced difficulty when attempting to vote.[3] These widespread
DC>complaints prompted Florida's governor to sign an executive order creating
DC>the Select Task Force on Election Procedures, Standards and Technology.[4]
DC>The task force was formed to examine the concerns that had been raised
DC>about Florida's election process and to recommend reforms where

DC>necessary.[5] [2] Robert A. Butterworth, Florida attorney general,

DC>Voting Irregularities in the 2000 Election," Bates Nos. 8204-8257.

DC>[3] Copies of these complaints were provided to the Commission pursuant to
DC>subpoenas duces tecum served on the headquarters of the Democratic and
DC>Republican parties in Florida. See "Complaints of Voting Irregularities
DC>in the 2000 Election," Bates Nos. 1-612.

DC>[5] John Ellis Bush, governor of Florida, Testimony, Tallahassee Verified
DC>Transcript, Jan. 11, 2001, pp. 105-09. On March 1, 2001, the Governor's
DC>task force released its findings and recommendations, which focused
DC>largely on reforming and updating Florida's election technology. See
DC>Governor's Task Force, Revitalizing Democracy.

You left out several very important items in this latest `they stole the
election' version:

1. Exactly how many individuals were arrested and charged with `preventing
voters from voting'?

2. What are the names of these `voters who were prevented from voting'? When
did they file charges with a U.S. Attorney? I must have missed that.

3. How many indictments were handed down on persons who `prevented voters from
voting'? I must have missed that, too.

4. How many charges were filed agoinst those who `prevented voters from
voting'? Were there any convictions? How many people went to prison?

5. Why weren't these criminal cases more publicized? `Preventing voters from
voting', especially in a national election, is a serious offense.

6. Why didn't the arrests of all those `perpetrators' who `prevented people
from voting' get a lot more publicity? I didn't read anything about them in
the newspaper, or hear Dan Rather or Bob Scheiffer say anything about them.

Are you `sure' about this? It all sounds like typical `hate George Bush'
cockamamie BS. `Cause.....without any indictments, arrests, convictions, etc,
its all a bunch of hot air.
