Ärende: Principles of flight.

 Ok, just to find out how many understand simple English.

 The following are basic principles of flight. The aircraft is a
 fixed wing design, with an engine that is not powerful enough to
 pull the plane straight up by sheer force.

 An aircraft's stall speed is dependent on several factors. One
 is angle of attack, that is what angle the wings are held at
 relative to the forward motion of the aircraft.

 Another is weight.

 A third is material that obstructs airflow over the wings, such
 as ice.

 All of which add up to changes in lift. An aircraft must
 maintain lift that counterbalances the weight of the plane to
 stay at a fixed altitude.

 Now, lift is also dependent on angle of attack. And lift is
 dependent on airspeed.

 If an aircraft is maintaining level flight at a set speed and
 angle of attack, anything that changes one of the above elements
 will change the stall speed.

 If the aircraft is flying well above the stall speed it's
 possible to change the above a fair amount without dropping
 below the stall speed, though other elements of flight will
 change, such as airspeed or altitude.

 If the aircraft enters a turn the stall speed will increase. If
 the stall speed increases to a speed above the airspeed, the
 aircraft will stall. If no corrective action is taken the
 aircraft will crash. The usual corrective action is to increase
 the airspeed.

 Now, if the stall speed increases above the airspeed, then
 *MAINTAINING* the airspeed above the stall speed means you must
 *INCREASE* the airspeed above what it was before.

 Is there anyone who does not understand that?

 Does anyone want to disagree with that conclusion?
