Ärende: What's in... 4B.
=========================
Hi again, James! This is a continuation of my previous message to you:

AH> Such activities are also a process of discovery, and
AH> a creative process because you know you'll be called
AH> upon to add some personal touches eventually.... :-)

JB> Wish I was so perfect. <L>

Perfect? Nah. We're human... by definition, none of us is perfect.
But it seems to me you've found a balance there which works for you... [grin].

JB> I'd think - well, I would *like* to think - the
JB> majority of us humans find a comfortable niche
JB> to hang our hat on, but knowing what we are, and
JB> being able to step out of that comfort zone would
JB> be a trick.

Yes. Most people seem to find a comfortable niche... and there they
remain until the universe slaps them upside the head with a need to change. I
suspect those of us who don't quite "fit in" may have some advantages over the
long haul, though. We tend to figure out who we really are a lot sooner. ;-)

JB> Like you mentioned the sensation of buckling into
JB> a kayak was out of your comfort zone, yet in it
JB> you went.

          Yup.... :-)

JB> Yes, you had enough of a support system in place,
JB> but you had the ability to say no.

Agreed on both counts. Another thing which made quite an impression
on me, however, was that nobody cared whether I was a klutz... cf. the kids in
school who picked me last because I couldn't put the ball over the net. These
people accept others as they are, because we all share a common interest. :-)

JB> You also knew how much Nora got a kick out of it,
JB> and she wasn't about to give you fibs about her
JB> new-found excitement.

Right. Dallas caught her grinning from ear to ear on her first time
out in a borrowed kayak with the appropriate adaptive equipment. Since he was
using a telephoto lens she didn't realize we'd noticed that. But Nora made no
attempt to persuade Dallas & me to join in because she didn't need to. We saw
how much fun she was having & decided we'd like to try the same thing.... :-)

JB> The skinny is, a whole tub of tools went for one price,
JB> and that one tool was just a part of the poundage.

          As I suspected. I don't have a problem with that.... :-)

JB> Maybe I get a kick out of being more than ordinary,

If you're a divergent thinker, you might as well enjoy it... [grin].

JB> but the fact is, I have two of these tubs worth of
JB> tools to either salvage for my own use, or ready for
JB> sale to a pawn brokerage. Yes, there are benefits to
JB> me, in the tools that I now don't have to shop for,
JB> the renumeration when I sell some, but the problem
JB> solving is as large a gain as anything. I didn't go
JB> out that day to buy a jack-hammer, but flexability
                                            |flexibility
JB> is part of the fun in good auctioning.

Yes, yes, and yes. Okay, I'm weird! But I can relate... [chuckle].
