Hi Carol!

Yes, that's about right.. maybe once in a while more than once a week. When I
was working through my Japanese and Chinese cookbooks, I obviously made it a
lot more often :)

> who make rice almost every day, use rice makers and the main point is the

Just make sure you get Arborio rice and the box should have at least one recipe
on it.. if not, you probably have a number of them here in the echo (g).

Basamati is one of the favorites of my daughter and her family so I usually
make that type when I'm expecting them and plan on rice.. For Ron and I, I
usually make brown rice, or japanese short-grain (that is addictive rice :))..
Will be good to see yours, since lately I don't mind having a tool that I don't
use that often in my kitchen.. it's better than saying, Oh darn, wish I had
that here now (g).

Sure thing.. I'm sure I'll be making a least a pizza or two :) If not me,
someone else :)

> Saw that mentioned with GA Ruth!

Yeah, it's really nice, I love it.. It makes the most outrageous roast chicken,
too.. We were amazed what a difference that made :) We figured the
Artisan-type bread would be great, but hadn't considered the roasted meats.

>> I have pasta machines (hand crank), too..

haha I hope so :)

A lot of the cookbooks I have for chinese cooking use them to deep-fry, or to
stir-fry.. well, you'll see all the cookbooks I have.. quite a collection. took
me a while to recover from that move from NY to KY where the Moving co. lost
all my cookbooks back then.. but the list of books has recovered quite well :)
Anyway, when I don't use my Wok, I use one of my cast iron pots for
stir-frying.. it's nice to use for stir-frying as well.

Sounds good. There should be plenty of chicken bones :)

Oh did you say dishes? (vbg).. I um.. have tons.. I collect them so there is
more than an over-abundance..Well, you'll see when you get here (g). It's
like a family joke around here, as a matter of fact.. I usually use
paper-plates for a big crowd if we're just having hamburgers, hot dogs and
salads, but I think for this we ought to use the Blue Willow stuff I use most
days.. It's all so sturdy and cleanup is easy in the dishwasher.. or we could
go with using the 1930's Meakin set - it's a little more delicate but so neat
in it's design (g)... seriously, I must have 5 sets just on the shelves that
Ron built for me in the kitchen (g).

> Oh another toy you can make a wish list of, is any wierd spice you havent

Any and all you may have brought home from Japan would be incredible, if
possible.. that's something we see somewhat here, but don't really know what a
lot of them are for, or how to best use them, know what I mean? The cookbooks
I have seem authentic enough, but you know...

I have Sushi pads to roll sushi with as well (that was another thing I fell in
love with, and had to buy books to make it :) ) so maybe we can play with that
too..

Take care,
Janis
