How much UV is reflected up from the earth? The other
point I was making to someone, probably Nancy or one of
the Ruths, was that a transparent floor would just give
one a stunning vista over the cargo compartment.

They make airplane windshields out of it, been doing so
since WWII. Certainly plastics technology has advanced
sufficiently that a substantially transparent airplane
could be constructed. And also, regarding fangling, a
substantial portion of the Boeing 787 was made of plastic
reinforced by carbon fibers.

Today I flew in a 739 and took care to look at the cabin
portholes. Turns out the old suggestions for greater-width
windows were not fully taken to heart, and the ones installed
though substantially wider than those in other craft, are
still not as wide as they are tall. Anyhow, I cleverly
placed myself on the sunny side, so that in order to look at
Ramsay and Bourdain on the teev I had to keep the shades down.

I packed away my extracts long ago, though I might find a
sauce of known Scoville rating and do dilutions of it.

I found this site's recipes to be endlessly amusing.
The guy seems to be some kind of Dr. Ing. What more
can I say?

Many regard the stem and its little green star as
inedible, as well as the scar at the other end. They
are not actually bad to eat but require more cooking
time (and moist) than does the main body of the fruit.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Ajam Setan / Grilled Chicken -Very Hot
 Categories: Indonesian, Chicken, Chili, Bbq
      Yield: 1 Servings

      8 lg Chillies, red
           -crushed.
      1 lg Chicken,
           -cut into pieces.
    1/2 ts Coriander
      3 tb Ketjap [soya sauce]
           Salt,
           -to taste.
      2 ts Pepper, black,
           -freshly ground.
      1 md Onion,
           -crushed.
      3    Garlic cloves,
           -crushed.
           Oil, peanut,
           -as required.

  Rub the chicken pieces with the black pepper and salt.

  Mix together the onions, garlic, red chillies, coriander, ketjap and 4
  fluid ounces [120 ml] of peanut oil, and marinate the chicken in the
  mixture for 1 hour.

  Now grill the chicken over a charcoal fire or in a hot oven. Baste the
  pieces occasionally with the remainder of the marinating sauce.

  Serve the chicken on a flat dish.
