I was shown that method by my late wife, in PNG, about 1982.  I was
quite impressed by the flavour.  I usually add some butter and freshly
ground pepper.  In Mexico, I have enjoyed hot corn cobs dusted with
powdered dried chili and cheese.

That sounds as if the drum was related to the floppy disk in the same
way that Edison's phonograph cylinder was related to the LP record.

The Doctor's house has the front gate formed (formatted?) in the exact
shape of the 5 1/4" floppy disk.

Some of his theories were quite strange, such as the brain is at its
most inventive when starved of oxygen, so he would stop breathing
until just before death occurred.

      Title: Crispy Vegetable Tempura

      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      2    Zucchini; in 1cm slices
      4 sm Red onions; or brown, 1/4rd
      1    Capsicum- red; seed/2.5cm
    125 g  Snow peas
    125 g  Baby corn
           Oil- vegetable; 4deepfry
    125 g  Flour- cornflour
     75 g  Flour- plain
      4 tb Baking powder
      1 ts Sp- mustard powder
      2 ts Semolina
      1 ts Salt
           ; NUTRITIONAL
   1600    ;Calories
   5720    ;Kjoules
     24 g  ;protein
    212 g  ;carbohydrate
     72 g  ;fat
     16 g  ;fibre
  4 3/8 g  ;sodium/Na
 
  In a wok/pan, heat the oil to 190^C.
  
  In a bowl, sift together the cornflour, flour, baking powder, mustard,
  semolina & salt. Beat in 300 to 450ml of iced water, to make a thick
  batter.
  
  Dip the vegetable pieces in the batter till evenly coated. Deep-fry
  in the heated oil for 4 or 5 minutes, till crisp & golden. Drain on
  peper towelling & serve.
  
  ** Broccoli, yellow capsicum may be used instead for variety. As a
  more filling starter include deep-fried boiled potatoes as well.
  
  Serve as a starter with soy sauce, or as a main dish with grilled
  fish in a herby tomato sauce.
