Definately so!  Looking at pictures of and reading about ladies fashions
of about 150 years ago makes me wonder how they managed to stay cool. In
Houston they may have been more sensible since it was still the wild
west.

A big change there, not always for the better.  Heating has improved
life in colder climates tho.  I'd have had a hard time living up north
with just a fireplace or two for heat (and most of the light).

I don't recall those.  It was definately dry tho.  The one tv weather
forecaster a few days ago was saying we had "desert like humidity" at
35%--desert like is in the single digits.  They also talk about high
surf at 8-10 feet--but said last night that there were some 20 foot
waves coming on shore from Hurricane Earl.  I know, they work from an
east coast perspective and I've seen otherwise.

No surprise.  Junior has to go out and rake the yard instead of mowing
it.  Most places have a bit of a green patch or a tree, just to give the
appearance of a green yard.

Sigh!  Too bad you didn't have conections with somebody who had a
freezer or someone on the kitchen staff of the hotel so you could have
stowed it (for a modest fee of course).

IOW, basically fish cakes.  I have done them with fresh salmon but more
often, the canned.  Probably will again with some of the salmon whenever
Steve gets it smoked.
