Maybe that's true in your little corner of Paradice. Some of these berks were
selling houses and then got into the contractor/developer schtick. Others, as
you say - including a racing acquaintance, Jim "Bigfoot" Moughan - owner of
Moughan Builders, who got his licence so as to not have to split the profits on
the "spec" McMansions he dots around the landscape.

There is a lot of "screw you, Jack. I've got mine" attitude among the majority
of the populace. And only a minority of them vote anyway. There maybe some hope
- the former mayor, who was a businessman/developer, was handed his walking
papers by a disgusted electorate - finishing third in the primary and then
being baulked in trying to get some "sweetheart" deals through as a "lame duck"
by the aldermen who were running for re-election and could read the writing on
the fence.

Hmmmmmmmmm. For myself, basil and pork are a natural pairing.  Bv)=  Toss in a

They may have shifted to pazuzas (from Scott Adam's Elbonia) since Al Capp died
and the chronicles of Lower Slobbovia are no longer current.   Bv)=

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Elbow Macaroni w/Tuna Fish & Corn
 Categories: Pasta, Seafood, Vegetables, Cheese, Dairy
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
     12 oz Pkg Mueller's Elbow Macaroni
      2 tb Butter
      2 tb Flour
      2 c  Milk
      7 oz Can tuna fish
      1 c  Whole kernel corn
           Salt, black pepper & paprika
      1 c  Grated cheese
 
  Cook elbow macaroni as directed and drain.
  
  Melt butter, stir in flour, gradually add the milk and
  stir over low fire until smooth and thick.
  
  Stir in tuna fish, corn and seasonings to taste and half
  the cheese.
  
  Arrange fish mixture in alternate layers with elbow
  macaroni in a buttered baking dish, sprinkle with
  remaining cheese.
  
  Bake in a moderate oven, 350oF/175oC, until brown.
